Antique & Vintage Button & Art Exhibit (A Curriculum linked Experience)

The Dawson Trail Museum and myself a local Bilingual Métis artist and collector, are hosting a curriculum linked exhibition called “Small Objects, Big Stories”. This guided tour is not your regular museum tour; our curriculum linked program is designed to support existing curriculum outcomes; History, Social Studies and Art. It’s interactive, discussion based and tailored to the grade level; (Grade 4 to 12)

What makes this event unique is that students aren’t just viewing artifacts-they’re learning how to interpret material culture, analyse objects as historical evidence, and reflect on identity and storytelling through art.

Dates are limited and local schools will be first invited.
Students will:

Explore how everyday objects reflect history and identity

Examine antique and vintage artifacts as material culture

Discover mixed media art and storytelling techniques

Engage in a guided discussion and reflective response
Tour Includes:

60–75-minute guided exhibit experience

Opportunity for Q&A with the artist
Cost: $100 per class + 1 button per student (up to 25 students)
*(any button will do), Teacher + required supervisory staff included
