Meet Rose

Rose-Marie Sherwood is Canadian Red River Métis, mixed-media artist and button collector based in Manitoba, Canada. Known for her deep appreciation for history, storytelling and the beauty of everyday materials. With a button collection spanning eras, she is a button enthusiast and a member of the National Button Society and continues to be dedicated to enjoying, educating and preserving everything beautiful and historic about buttons. She is determined to encourage people to save the buttons and preserve history! She invites you to come view her exhibit and discover the fascinating stories behind the world of buttons . She has been known to bring new life to buttons by weaving them and other materials into expressive mixed-media artwork where amongst others you will always find an antique or vintage button wired to the canvas of her artwork next to her artist signature. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for creative exploration.

 

Rose is passionate about inspiring women of all ages experience the healing and reflective power of creativity. Indigenous purifying traditions are incorporated in her creative meditative sessions. Embark on one of our creative workshops/session for an uplifting experience and unlock new perspectives on personal well-being through artistic expression. Through exhibitions, workshops, and community events, she invites people to slow down and reconnect with their creativity and find renewed joy and balance in their life.
